Start Own Business – How to Figure out What Business Suits You

In this post, I want to cover some questions that you should be asking yourself in figuring out what business suits your personality and interests most. So make sure to grab yourself a cup of coffee, a pen and paper, and sit back and take the time to answer these questions honestly.

• What do you like to do?  Do you like to write?  Clean?  Type?  Cook?  Make Crafts?  Play piano?
• What do others tell you that you are good at?
• What do you think you’re good at and are your strengths?  For example, are you an organized person?  Do you pay attention to detail?  Are you good at math?
• What things do you struggle with?
• What scares you most about starting your own business?
• How much do you want to make?  Do you want a business that brings in part-time income or one that brings in full, replacement income?
• Answer this one honestly:  How quickly do you want to make an income?  How long could you wait to make an income if it meant you could make a lot of money later as you set things up?
• Do you like working with people?  Or do you like working by yourself?
• Do you like learning new things, and are you willing to learn to do something new in order to get your business started?
• How much time can you devote to your business on a daily basis?
• When can you work?  Evenings after the kids are gone to bed?  Daytime?
• Do you have the motivation and personality to stick things out even when if things get difficult sometimes?
• How much money do you have available to start up your business?  Does the business you plan to start require a lot of money to start it or does it cost very little?
